Your Staff Need Mo Moolah!
Unmotivated employee, not at their desk, not following work due, playing instant messenger in office hours and out for lunch more than time limit are some of the example of what employer experience daily.Then here comes the control mechanism, both hardware and software. The Hardware – the famous CCTV, most reliable tools for fast result. Just plug in and at isntant the employee will glued to their desk. Then come the software for productivity – like Key Performance Indicator and balance score card. Implement all of this and the company is going corporate.
Now the company can produced well programmed staff to achieve the goals. It’s all about money and merit. Nothing more. But big corporation, well known and established also collapse, not just a plain lost in their revenue but bankrupt, loosing everything. Recent economic turmoil end of last year that hit U.S is the clear evidence. Of course company like Lehman brothers with $billion in assets must be applying all sort of system to maintain the staff maybe like KPI’s, MBO, MBE, 5S, KAIZEN, Six Sigma or TQM but it still bankrupt last year. So the School of Business must create another best practice? No?
Business Owner intention always want to reap huge profit from the operation and the result is ultimate cost cutting. Workers intention always want a secure job to feed the families and willing to do extra job if the companies offer it. Long hours job but low wages and discrimination will put the staff motivation very low and their mind thinking of doing another outside job. Usually workers will hard to understand the companies finance statement. They will think that companies always have a lot of money, if not why the owner can setup such a big factory and drive a Mercz S500. So why can’t lift up their salaries a little bit and give extra bonuses. Ultimate cost cutting bring owner to 3rd world country or import the worker from 3rd word country. MNC’s from U.S or Japan like to setup factory here as the cost of 3 labor here equivalent to 1 labor there. Now China is their favorit. Like Malaysia employer like to employs Bangladeshi (Bangla), Indonesian (Endon), Nepalese (Nepel) and Viatnamese (Viatnam). The outside workers seem can work hard and at extreme condition with low wages but still motivated to come here legally and illegally. So the theory that little moolah = little motivation is not valid anymore.
Maybe the missing link are :
- Mooney should increase with productivity
- Companies should treat all the staff with companies shares..
- Or charge the staff with security deposit and shares the company shares..
- Get a very sincere and religious person to work with you or vice versa.
