About Shopping Mall Building Design
Mall Madness, Nancy Drew
This opinion is from my self and I don’t make any building design engineering reference when writing this. There are few shopping complex at my place. Some look like it is abandoned by the owner although few tenants still doing business. Some is still famous from my teenage years till now, crowded and people enjoy to go there. I can say why I don’t like to go to this shopping complex and vice versa.
Shopping complex should not have to complex interior layout. It’s okay to be so modern with futuristic design outside but not inside. To complex interior are like to many blocks, jigsaw like path to the shop lots, or to many section. The building that house many shop lots also should not be the same as normal office building or a hotel. It Means to many floor and each floor are separated by concrete wall. Complex path to shop lot, people can get lost. Jigsaw route with many floor will also make people feel unsafe especially at night.
People like to go more open space shopping complex. Where when we enter the ground floor we can see as far as the highest floor and as far as the end of the shop lot. Customer will discourage to go up and up because they don’t clearly see the up most shop lot. I can see why Melaka people enjoy to go to Mahkota Parade Shopping complex now and then because ithe simple square long building with just 2 floor and you can see it clearly till up there. Shopping Mall like Hang Tuah Plaza or Melaka Mall have design that I think discourage people to explore all the shop lots.
Like IMBI Plaza in KL, to many floor with many section, people will feel little unsafe to go higher with lest people and lest shop lot open.
Hmm….
I mean Shopping Mall like this, people will enjoy..
