Extra Co-Curricular Activities
Remember the good old days? When we are at school and college. Malaysian system at that time are trying to encourage students to enroll into extra co-curricular activities. From primary school (7-12 years od) to secondary school(13-17 years old), all extra co-curricular activities were recorded and have certification. They said this certificate is important when you want to get a place at the local Public Universities.
Lots of activities you can choose from, get into sport, society or enter a school competition. Going to Universities, extra co-curricular activities have own credit hour and mandatory. In a week, there will be one day dedicated to extra co-curricular activities. At the Public Universities, more choices of student activities. They got Reserved Army, Red Crescent, St. John Ambulance, All Cultural Society, Debate, All Music Equipment, All Types of Martial Art and Religious Group. The student activities are included in the university fee.
After graduated, all of them are scattered around the earth. Working in various type of job. Some also still seeking. Some can’t find anything suitable and just eat sponsorship money comfortably at home. For young executive, you can guess they are very busy with life. Especially those who are working in big cities. Suddenly they are not emphasizing on the extra co-curricular activities anymore. Just working days and night to serve the capitalist world. Some of them maybe were leader in the Scout or a high ranking officer in the St John Ambulance at the universities. Day by day you will forgot the good all days.
I’m thinking that working adult also in-need of an extra co-curricular activities. The skill can be good to the community. Let’s not all the experience just lost in time. By practicing it maybe can eliminate working stress and balance the physical life. Employer should look into this. Maybe it can benefit both parties.
